L’8 Boutique Design Apartments in Bologna
I have always wanted to visit Bologna, the “young city” as I have always called it. There are a lot of students from all over Italy and it is rich in events. I enjoyed 2 days in Bologna in total relaxation in a lovely, elegant and welcoming apartment: L’8 Boutique Design Apartments, ideal for travelers who love design and for professionals who travel for work.
Design apartments only a stone’s throw from the center of Bologna
L’8 Boutique Apartments are located in a completely renovated 18th century building, which was once the Convent of Sant’Andrea, in a quiet street, a stone’s throw from the center, between the station and Piazza Maggiore. They are close to the main tourist attractions like the Two Towers, the Neptune’s Fountain, the Basilica of San Petronio, the Jewish ghetto, theaters and museums. The advantage of being in such traditional building in the center of Bologna has no price. From here, you can move on foot, walking through the alleys, without needing any public transport, and enjoy the most important events dedicated to art, music and culture.
The apartment where I spent my weekend was the number 808 and is located on the third floor. There is no lift, a feature that unfortunately is missing in a building like this. I really enjoyed the details, such as the empty frames on the walls of the bedroom. But let’s start from the beginning.
Contemporary, ethnic and traditional styles all together
The whole apartment is a mix of contemporary, ethnic and traditional styles. The large contemporary kitchen has details that recall rusticity, such as the empty bird cages or other aged decorations. The kitchen is equipped with all comforts: dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, induction hob, fridge with freezer compartment and coffee machine. There is a table where you can have breakfast and a comfortable sofa on which you can relax reading a book or watching television (there are two televisions in the whole apartment, the other one is in the bedroom, just behind the door). The bathroom is lovely but small. There are not many spaces to put your beauty products, for instance. But there is always a solutions: I used the cute blue stool.
The bedroom does not have a wardrobe, which was instead obtained in the kitchen as compartment in the wall! This room has got wicker furnishings and it is truly lovely. The wall is decorated with a wallpaper with large papyrus leaves that recalls the jungle style. There is a comfortable armchair and numerous frames on the walls giving personality to the whole apartment.
The bedroom protrudes onto a delightful terrace with plants and flowers, where you can sit and have a drink surrounded by the characteristic red roofs of Bologna. Here your privacy will be assured.
At L’8 Boutique Apartments travellers can also purchase guided tours, experience tastings of traditional local wines, and join cooking classes.
